Over the last five years or so there have been few point guards as consistent and dominant at the position than the Phoenix Suns Steve Nash.

Nash is just the total package with the ability to do almost anything on the basketball floor. Passing, shooting and making his team better, Nash is a coach's web dream and an opponent's worst nightmare.

Although Nash is still among the top five point guards in the league, his age is starting to show and one can only think that he has about two or three more years of being one of the best point guards in the league.

With this put into consideration the two time NBA MVP wanted to make sure he was getting paid over the next few years in the twilight of his hall of fame career. There was a lot of speculation of Nash going to the New York Knicks to play for his former coach Mike D' Antoni, but he decided to stay with the Suns by signing of a contract extension for two years at about $11 million per season.

Will the Suns be competitive again in those two years? Doubtful, but at least they have still have their franchise player back for more.
