College football odds are much different than NFL odds, for a number of reasons. Sure, both sports look a lot alike and they are played on similar fields, but that’s really where the similarities stop. College football, to be frank, is a game played with emotion. If you fail to take this into account, you will end up losing more times than not.

Rivalries

Some of the most interesting college football odds are usually associated with rivalry games. These are those times when hated team A takes on their neighbor from just down the road. The fans hate each other, the coaches don’t care for each other, and more importantly, the players will be more motivated. These games have a tendency to be close, but there are times when one team can gain a psychological advantage over the other and keep it for years.

The “Trap” Game

Usually more so than in pro football, college football players have a tendency to fall into the classic “trap” game. After all, these are college kids, aged right around 20, so they are allowed to think ahead a little bit. You can sometimes find great college football odds just by looking ahead on the schedule. Figure out if a team is playing a huge game in a couple of weeks, and go against them this week, as their focus might be a little bit shifted.
